Go go gadget make stuff up! Good job. Would you like to also state that TomTom AppStore app is going to cost a million dollars.. just so we keep the inaccurate information flowing.

TomTom has already stated that the dock is NOT required. It makes the GPS more accurate, and provides a digital out, as well as a speaker… but is not required.

    That is not true.
TomTom for iPhone 3G or 3Gs does not require the TomTom car kit. It uses the iPhone’s internal GPS.
However, the TomTom car kit enhances the user experience and the overall GPS accuracy.

Requires the dock. The dock is not going to work with most, if any covers. May as well just buy a standalone navigation.

Do u no wen its out ??

  5. LEXPIX July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

That’s cool. With the iPhone’s nice screen, that’ll be a killer app. Being a GPS nut myself, I think this will be awesome if it delivers what it promises.

    its not out yet
    lol

I had TomTom for my Treo. If the pattern holds true, the map file sizes will be a few hundred megabytes, not gigabytes, depending on what you load. For an iPhone with 16 and 32GB’s of memory, this is a non-issue, unless you rely heavily on memory for movies.

    LOL

    It’s here ????
I’m looking all over the Appstore - can’t find it :’(

  9. NeverEnoughTools July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

It’s here? Where? I don’t see it. How can it be here an coming soon at the same time?

  10. nonosse56 July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

I was hoping this would be out for summer so I
could enjoy this in my car but it’s been a month now since WWDC & there still isnt even a release date :((
I mean, what’s the pb, the app looks like it’s complete, apple annonced it, so why dont you just click the “release on the appstore” button ??

Yes, it´s a pity TomTom does not have reps here. This company gives a damn about their customers (and what they think). Don´t believe me? Just call the hotline and ask them ANYTHING.
I really hate the fact that they are building the worlds best navigation software, but it could be so much better if they listen to the demands and opinions of their customers.

I must have this. So long as it doesn’t cost 5000 bucks a month to run in a foreign country.

Come on TOMTOM, ATT NAVE is JUNK!! Come out and give ATT the smack down! This app is purchased the day it comes out!! Alongs with TONS of other Iphone users..

I haven’t heard a word from Tomtom in a long time … wouldn’t it be wise to at least give us a date? I am starting to think I was dumb when I didn’t fell for Navigons introduction price.

By the way Navigon has reps answering questions in their app-clip at Youtube … A good way keeping the audience interested … Again, where are you Tomtom? Do you want us to speculate?

  15. GeoffCoope July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

Not happy, announced prior to 3Gs launch then silence. No App or release date.

I’m going to try Navigon for iPhone while i wait for it.

Does this use data for the maps or does the app itself have maps already on it? If so, it would be a big file size (5GB at most). I would buy this app if it doesn’t use data

really? how can I be sure?

  23. cornel1428 July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

How much will cost the car kit, the app and when will be released? I’m going in vacation in 4 weeks and I need it. Can I get the car kit fast if I’m in Europe? Can anybody from TomTom answer this please?

  24. monctontechno July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

I would wait but I go on my vacation in 2 days and I need the voice navigation now. Atleast I tried. I came to this site every day hoping if its released. I just think its not fair that they don’t atleast have a release date(atleast a little more specific rather than saying coming soon later this summer). I wish they would of had this out before summer season when everyone is going on road trips, vacations, etc. they would probably make more money.

  25. seaniepie July 13, 2009 3:05 pm

More fool you monctontechno :S Get the others, show the impatience, suffer the loss! TomTom will rock and be the best. No one has worked closer with Apple to get this kind of product done than TomTom so it’s definitly gonna be worth the wait.
